Strong momentum during the first half of 2014 propelled by new clients and growing demand for mobile application management technology
BOSTON, July 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Apperian®, Inc., the leading platform for securing, distributing and managing enterprise mobile apps, announced today that it has facilitated more than one million enterprise app downloads for customers through its mobile application management platform. The company continues to shatter growth and revenue milestones, more than doubling its year-over-year new business bookings in Q2 2014 and surpassing its first half 2013 bookings by more than 85 percent.
"There's a significant shift in the market around mobility in the enterprise right now and Apple and IBM's recent decision to work together to create business apps validates the shifting emphasis from devices to mobile apps in the enterprise," said Brian Day, CFO at Apperian. "The fact that we've served as the engine behind more than one million enterprise app downloads speaks volumes about the adoption of our technology and its value in the enterprise. Apperian's consistent and aggressive growth is a reflection of increasing customer and partner momentum that's resulted in a 400 percent surge in our pipeline and there are no expectations of slow down any time soon."
Apperian added more clients and partners to its roster in Q2 2014 than any previous quarter, including a branch of the United States Department of Homeland Security, a branch of the United States Armed Forces, global financial services institutions, national retail chains and brands, various major technology providers, and an international pharmaceutical corporation. The company also expanded partnership relationships with major brands in mobility, security, and tech including Dell, IBM, and McAfee – helping the company deepen its footprint in key strategic markets.
"With Apperian, our company is able to apply and manage security policies for our enterprise apps while still adhering to our BYOD culture," said Robert Lacis, Director of Field Enablement at Maxim Integrated Products. "We don't require an MDM approach because we can provide security and drive adoption of critical apps through Apperian's seamless experience all while respecting our users' privacy."
Mobile Application Management Increasingly Popular to Alternate Mobility Management Approaches
Earlier this month Apperian was cited in a recent Gartner report titled "Use the Mobile App Mix to Choose an Enterprise App Store Strategy." The Gartner report states:
"If an investment in EMM has not been made, is not planned or is limited to basic mobile device management (MDM) functions, enterprises should focus their investments on app-centric MAM tools that provide granular controls for app deployment, supply app-specific policies and interface with a wide range of development tools."
