THIS SATURDAY - FIDO Fiesta Island Off-leash Area Clean-Up

Posted: Updated:

The next organized FIDO Fiesta Island Off-leash Area Clean-Up will be held, Saturday, February 22 - from 9:30am-11am.

Dogs are welcome as long as you help pick-up. :)

NOTE: East Mission Bay Drive will be closed north of the Fiesta Island that day for a triathalon - so plan to come in from the south.

Bring your own picker-uppers and gloves if you have them. We'll have trash bags and light, disposable gloves.

This is a great time of year to do this, since litter is easy to see out there right now.

We're also looking for a few volunteers who can come early (@9:10am) to help with set-up and also help sign-up new FIDO members throughout the event. It's easy to greet people at the gates where they arrive with a cheery: "Do you know about Fiesta Island Dog Owners?" Many do and we thank them, but many do not and they are happy to learn about us.

Please email info@FIDOSD.org if you plan to come for the clean-up and indicate if you can come at 9:10am for additional volunteer duties - if you'd like to be a greeter or if you prefer something else.

Our fine area needs your help - and the FIDO Board needs your help!

Our Pet of the Week is one stunning black kitten - Patrick is a true charmer! Black cats have a particularly tough time being adopted due to superstition. This guy is such a charmer that even I'm having some witchcraft suspicions, but I'm sure it's just his warm personality that draws the crowds.More >>
