Thanksgiving Noms Countdown

Thanksgiving – the one time a year where we stop and realize all that we have to be thankful for, as if we shouldn't be doing that every day…And let's not forget waking up the next morning at 3 a.m. for Black Friday.  Being grateful for what you have apparently only lasts less than 24 hours because no hesitation is shown when it comes to trampling multiple people in order to get the best deal on that flat screen TV.

Despite the football, fall weather, and 3 day weekend that Thanksgiving brings, let's get to what people really care about…the grub. Filling your plate sky-high and getting seconds may usually be frowned upon, but not today so you better take FULL advantage.

Forget the fact that you will have to spend an entire day with your crazy family because you know this holiday is centered around food and a lot of it.

Let's review some of the traditional dishes that you will be shoveling into your mouth until you are sinking into the black hole that is your couch for 6 hours:

  1. Turkey, duh.  These delicious birds better start hiding now.
  2. Stuffing.  Don't know what's in it, but you love it.
  3. Classic mashed potatoes
  4. Yams.  Must be mixed with marshmallows or else, ew.
  5. Pumpkin pie.  If you don't have at least two slices, you're doing it wrong.
  6. Green bean casserole
  7. Cranberry sauce
  8. Gravy.  Put it on EVERYTHING.
  9. Ham
  10. Turducken. If this tradition runs in your family, you may or may not have issues.
