How Can You Save a Life? It's Simple!

Posted: Updated:

It sounds so simple - blankets can make a big difference in the life of a homeless animal.

A blanket? Yes, a simple blanket - or, a soft, warm towel. Or, comforters, pet beds, food, treats, collars, crates and other comfort and aid items that can change the daily existence of a homeless pet from bad to better, dramatically reducing stress in shelter and foster situations.

Yes, it's that simple: Better comfort conditions while awaiting that new forever home can make a big difference in getting that animal adopted. That's all it takes to make the difference between life and death to a homeless animal.

And, that's why Operation of Blankets of Love exists: to make homeless animals more comfortable and more adoptable. How do we do this? By collecting and donating all of those vital comfort and aid items and distributing them - free - to countless public and private animal shelters, rescue groups and pets of the homeless, as well as answering the call for help in emergency situations around the country.

That simple word "free" is worth repeating. With your help, OBOL has been able to collect and give thousands of dollars worth of comfort and aid items to those who need them the most, the front-line animal shelters and rescue groups that have a hard enough time covering the basic costs of housing and feeding a constant influx of homeless animals.

By partnering with the rescue community, we're making a big difference in the bigger picture: Increased adoptions reduce euthanasia rates for homeless animals. And, isn't that the bottom line of what we all want? More adoptions? More happy endings for more animals?

We know that this is a big task to take on. There is no other non-profit animal welfare organization that does what OBOL does. We rely on a team of dedicated volunteers to help us collect donations from more than 70 drop-off locations in ten Southern California Counties and get them to the animals that need them. In the last 4 years, more than 50,000 homeless animals have been helped. That's a pretty big number, and we're dedicated to keeping it up.

We also hope that the animals and OBOL can rely on you. Everyone involved with OBOL is constantly on the road, picking up and delivering donated items over a very big area every month, resulting in big monthly auto and gas expenses. We simply cannot do this without help to cover the expenses involved in this work.

The need never stops; neither do we!

We can't do this without you!

Please give as much as you can. Send a check today to make a big difference in the lives of homeless animals. Or, donate online at OperationBlanketsofLove.org.
