Frequently Asked Questions about JACK Streaming:
I live outside of San Diego and now can't I listen to the JACK stream. What changed?
At Jack FM, our goal is for our online listening experience to directly reflect what airs on 100.7 Jack FM in San Diego. For us to be able to do this, we needed to adjust our stream to only be heard by devices located in San Diego. Previously, due to licensing and other restrictions some of the content heard when listening online at sandiegojack.com had to be omitted from the broadcast and replaced with content formatted solely for the online streaming broadcast. This allows us to have the best sounding station possible for all of those listening in the San Diego market.
I really liked the music on Jack but now I can't listen since I am not in San Diego. Is there any other options for me?
While 100.7 Jack FM / KFMB-FM in San Diego is locally programmed for the San Diego market, the Jack FM brand can be heard nationally in over 35 different cities in the United States. Click here for a complete list: http://www.jack.fm/radio-stations/usa
I really love the DSC Show and now I can't hear it live ... any options for me?
Download the brand new DSC app. We have transitioned to a commercial free, single track, daily download so that we can continue to serve DSC fans that can't listen live or reside outside of San Diego. Currently the DSC app is in its free trial phase. Beginning in October 2013 this service will transition to subscription based service with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the DSC fund which allows us to give back to those in need with the 12 Days of Christmas in July and December each year. I live in San Diego now but your stream says I don't! What gives?
When the stream launches, it looks at the IP Address of the device you are using to access it and determines the location. For some reason, the device must be using an IP Address that is based outside of our San Diego listening area. This happens from time to time based on the cellular signal or internet connection you are using. While IP Address isn't a perfect system to determine where people are accessing the stream from, currently it is the best method available. A free and easy way to check what IP Address and location your device is using is to visit this site (from your computer, phone, tablet that isn't allowing you to listen): whatismyipaddress.com. This will show you your actual IP Information as well as the City that your device shows you located in.
