Viveca Stone-Berry, author of Adopt Foster Volunteer Pup & Purr Opportunities Calendar 2013, is a life-long animal lover. If she can't adopt them, she is busy promoting them to others. Her current pack consists of an all-breed four-pack, plus regular "special needs/ last stop" foster pups. Then there is the clowder of three felines plus room for foster purrs... In the middle of all of this is Peetie-the-bird.
It is the pups that make her the go-to neighbor for lost and found dogs and earned her the affectionate (?) nickname of "the dog lady". (They don't know about the cats and bird!) Viveca credits her excellent health, including full recovery from adrenal fatigue and breast cancer, to her loving best-friend-forever, Michael, and to hours spent volunteering in animal rescue, walking dogs and petting cats.
She is a Co-Founder of Dog Caption Cards, a greeting card company dedicated to "raising FUN with friends and FUNds for fur-friends". Twenty-five percent of the proceeds from all card sales are donated to animal rescue. To date, contributions have been made to: Bully Paws, Humane Society of Caroline County, J & J Rescue, Meow Stories, Ring Dog Rescue, Rainbow Animal Rescue, Shadow Cats and SpayUSA. In keeping with the spirit of giving, 25% of the proceeds from the sale of Adopt Foster Volunteer will support rescues with a specific focus on the development and support of "foster" programs.
