Toby is a rescue pup, but due to issues in his current living situation, he needs a new FURever home. He is a super sweet, 9 month old Border Collie (mostly - a little Heinz 57). Short hair, fixed (yea!), and has all his shots and licensed. He had both a vet check up at the shelter (where he was fixed), as well as a visit to Midland Animal Clinic this week.
He sleeps through the night on a dog bed on the floor, and doesn't bark a lot. He likes being outside, but mostly with humans. He does still have a few "puppy" characteristics, such as chewing, but he loves to chew on a really hard baseball or lacrosse ball, so he can be easily distracted from chewing stuff he shouldn't.
His current owner took him to the dog park, and even though he is only 30 lbs (the vets don't expect him to get much bigger) he held his own with the big guys, wagging his tail and playing the whole time. He is super good with children, and loves other animals...and that is the problem. He loves his owner's cats, but the cats hate him. They would tough it out and make everyone get used to one another, but one of our cats is stressed to the point that she is throwing up blood, so in order to keep everyone healthy, it is best for him to find another home. The owner could take him back to the shelter, but he is such a sweetheart, she hates to see him go "back into the system."
