
It looks like "Hugo" is the Oscar darling this year, garnering the most nominations for 2012. "Hugo" picked up 11 nominations, including best picture and Martin Scorsese for best director, also best screenplay, as well as several technical Oscars. "The Artist," the low-budget black-and-white silent movie earned 10 nominations, including nods for best picture, best director, screenplay, actor and supporting actress. George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt and Octavia Spencer were among the performers receiving nominations, while "The Descendants" and "Moneyball" also scored best picture nods for the 84th Academy Awards announced this morning in Beverly Hills. The ceremony will be held on Feb. 26 at the Kodak Theater and will be televised on ABC.
