Sir Paul McCartney walked down the aisle for the third and hopefully, final time yesterday. He married American, Nancy Shevell at the same register's office where he married his first wife Linda in 1969. Sunday would have been John Lennon's 71st birthday.

Fellow Beatle Ringo Starr, Barbara Walters, who is Shevell's cousin, and McCartney's children — Mary, James, Stella and Beatrice — were all present. Paul's younger brother Mike was the best man, while his daughter with Heather Mills, Beatrice, was the flower girl. It's said that Barbara Walters was the one who introduced the couple.

The couple's reception was held at McCartney's home in St. John's Wood, a north London district. About 100 revelers were in attendance, including Kate Moss, Twiggy, Jools Holland and Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood. A few hundred fans showed up to wish the couple well, compared to thousands who swarmed the building when he got married the first time.

The former Beatle performed a song at the reception specially written for his new wife. Guests dined on vegetarian food and even had the option of vegan cake. Mr. and Mrs. McCartney both wore outfits designed by Paul's daughter, Stella.
