The sitcom, Modern Family was the big winner last night, with five trophy's, at the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards show on Fox. "Modern Family" took home Best Comedy Series, Best Supporting Actor and Actress and Best Directing.
The fabulous show "Mad Men" received its fourth consecutive Emmy for Best Drama, beating out the acclaimed HBO Drama, Boardwalk Empire. Martin Scorese took home the Best Director Emmy for "Boardwalk Empire."
One of the surprises of the night came when Kyle Chandler won for Best Actor in a drama for his role in "Friday Night Lights." The football drama also won for outstanding writing. The PBS, British period piece "Downtown Abbey" beat "Mildred Pierce" for Best Miniseries or TV Movie. However, "Mildred Pierce" did garner two big wins; Best Actor, Guy Pearce and Best Actress, Kate Winslet.
"Glee's" Jane Lynch did an admirable job hosting the award show, although "Glee" didn't win any trophy's last night. However, Gwyneth Paltrow won an Emmy for Best Guest Star during last week's smaller ceremony.
The Best Actress in a Drama went to Julianna Margulies for "The Good Wife."
The best presentation and acceptance speech of the evening came from Best Actress in a Comedy Series to Melissa McCarthy for "Mike & Molly."
The Daily Show With John Stewart won for Best Directing and Best Variety, Music or Comedy Series.
There was plenty of glamour and glitz on hand, with lots of celebs looking lovely!
