TNT is bringing back one of the most popular night time soaps of all time! Dallas is coming back to your TV this summer! TNT says it's not a remake, but an updated continuation of the Ewing Family Dynasty on Southfork Ranch. The younger generation will show us the modern version of jealousy, love affairs and Southern family feuding. The Ewing offspring; J.R. Ewing's son John Ross, battles with Bobby and Pam Ewing's adopted son Christopher; for oil, money, women and more on the beautiful Texas ranch.
The original Dallas ran for 13 seasons from 1978-1991. It was famous for it's cliffhangers, including, "Who Shot JR," and the "Dream Season." It was one of the most watched shows on TV.
79-year-old Larry Hagman will reprise his role as the patriarch, J. R. Ewing.
62-year-old Patrick Duffy will return to play Bobby Ewing, J.R.'s brother
And 70-year-old Linda Gray is back as J.R.'s ex-wife, Sue Ellen Ewing.
Alas, the lovely Victoria Principal won't be back to play Bobby's wife. That role now goes to Brenda Strong, who you'll recognize as the narrator on Desperate Housewives.
Strong joins the former Desperate Housewives alums Jesse Metcalfe and Josh Henderson. Jesse plays, John Ross, J.R.'s son.
And Josh Henderson plays Christopher, the adopted son of Bobby and Pam Ewing.
Jordana Brewster, from Fast & Furious, will star as Elena, who is involved in a love triangle with Christopher and John Ross.
Julie Gonzalo, from Veronica Mars, will star as Christopher's fiancée Rebecca.
I will be front and center watching and hoping it's as good as the original Dallas.
