Maternity leave is a wonderful thing! I've been sleeping in guilt-free since everyone keeps reminding me this is my last chance to see the inside of my eyelids for oh, the next couple of decades or so.
I've been enjoying time with husband during our last few weeks as "the two of us," lunching with girlfriends and taking our Pug Owen on a lot of walks since everyone tells me the poor guy will be all but kicked to the curb for a while, starved of any attention once the baby comes.
I've watched just about every episode of MTV's "16 and Pregnant," "A Baby Story," and "Bringing Home Baby" in hopes of preparing for labor and delivery. I even watched a show on TLC called "My Monkey Baby" but that didn't help as much as totally creep me out.
I've nested until I can't nest anymore. Every surface in the house is clean enough to eat off of and all of her little, itty bitty baby clothes and blankets have been thoroughly Drefted.
I've read ‘What To Expect' cover to cover, we've taken infant CPR and packed our hospital bags for go time.
Oh, and I've been eating lots of Drumsticks, the ice cream kind not the chicken kind. This, of course, because the baby needs calcium. At least, that's the excuse I'm going with.
The only hard part is trying to be patient while we wait for her to arrive. I can't wait to meet her, the anticipation is killing me!
In the meantime, I think there's a Drumstick in the freezer calling my name :)
