GOODWILL BOOKSTORE NOW OPEN IN EASTLAKE
Goodwill Bookstore 2220 Otay Lakes Road #501 Chula Vista, CA 91915 (619) 216-1900 A new Goodwill facility with a wi-fi bookstore, donation center and secure document destruction drop-off in the Eastlake area of Chula Vista near Southwestern College is now open. Store hours are Monday-Saturday 9:00 am – 7:00 pm and Sunday 10:00am – 5:00 pm. Book lovers can get great gifts for Holiday shopping at this new Goodwill Bookstore.
Donations are accepted during business hours through the donation door at the back of the store off the alley. Goodwill encourages donors to bring their items only during posted hours to prevent vandalism and theft. A good rule of thumb is if you’d pass it on to a family member or a friend, they would love to get it as a donation. The one exception is for televisions and electronic items which are accepted whether they are working or not. At this location, in addition, they also accept clothing and small household items. Larger donations are to be taken to the Goodwill retail store at 1177 Broadway in Chula Vista. Document destruction drop off area is right inside the door, shredding personal and business documents for a reasonable cost, exceeding government standards for security of your private information, AAA certified by NAID (National Association for Information Destruction).
Goodwill Industries of San Diego County is a local charitable organization whose purpose is “Getting People Jobs” with the mission "To get people with disabilities and other barriers to employment jobs by developing their skills and work habits through training and real work." Their stores sell donated items to fund operations and training programs, and to give participants a venue to build productive, paid work experience before seeking a job in the community.
